Today we from Dutchcollar introduce our latest prototype! The “EL™ Collar” series. These series of collars, cuffs and belts contain EL™ wire and/or stripes. EL stands for electroluminescent. It works on the basics of an LED but instead of just one module it comes in wires and bands. EL wire can be powered by a single button cell for 3 hours long. (depending on the length) We from Dutchcollar supply each collar that got EL wire with an triple A inverter. The inverter is housed by a small leather pocket at the back of the collar.
The Triple A inverter got two functions: On and 1 second strobe. Up on demand we can supply the collars with larger or smaller inverters. Such as an inverter with Lithium ion battery for a set with collars cuffs and a belt.
The collar above is a prototype of what we can do with EL material. This is an EL stripe of 1,5 cm. to the left you see the collar in normal daylight with the EL stripe turned off. To the right you see the collar in the dark with the stripe turned on. We expect an average triple A inverter to last around 6 hours. (highly depends on the size of the wire or stripe)
For protection we finished of the collar with a monofilm that is used with in the sail repair industry. This monofilm protects the EL wire against moisture and other forms of damage.
